Here is an overview of important style variations used in the Camilo Theme.
Layout Modes
Content Half
Content Half means that the main content window (the one you can input your content) will be half in width.
Content Full
With this layout option there will be no empty space at the left side of the content area so the content container will come directly at the right of the sidebar.
Sidebar Big
The sidebar will be expanded a little bit – just in case you need more space for the navigation and text to fit.
Header Small
As the name suggests: the header part of the layout will be smaller.
Splash Screen(s)
The Splash Screens mode are used to layout pages that contain mainly the content. Splash screens are great for starting pages where you don’t need to have a menu or header.
I think you can work out the combinations.
Width and Height
You can choose between different height/width values for your layout. Some of them have a fix value, others a fluid (percentage) which calculates automatically based on the browser window width/height. The main container will allways be centered horizontally and vertically.
The Side Header
The sideheader is very special in the Camilo theme. The sideheader is created placing the site logo in the leftmost container of the theme and also can replace the general page header at the top. Mention that there is no text rendered in the sideheader area, so to use text in that area you have to include them in the site logo.
The image is added in RW the standard way a site logo is added:
1) Open the Site Inspector (by typing: Command-1). In the lower part of the site setup panel you see the Logo section
2) Enable the Logo
3) Click on the Choose… button to bring up a standard open dialog
4) Select your side header image
5) Click on the Open button
Now the image should be included on every page.
In the Camilo Theme you can choose only to show up the Site Logo (= Header Side) or also the titles above the main content container. You have the following possibilities:
Side: Only the Site Logo will be shown in the leftmost container
Top: Only the titles are shown above the main container
Side + Top: Both headers are displayed
None: No header at all
The site logo can also be positioned at the top or bottom of the sideheader area. It also can be resized automatically, depending on the available width of the sideheader. This can be handy and also nice, if you choose a fluid width. If you set the logo resizing to automatic, the image will also resize depending on the browser window with.
The Sidebar Content Placement
In the newest version of the Camilo Theme you can choose to place the sidebar content below the navbar or in the free area at the right side of the navigation (called „sidebar 2“)
Background Image
In the Camilo theme you have the possibility to place a background image on your page. There are several options in the style variations you can set, so the image is rendered the way you want it (position, repeat, …). You can have up to five different bg images. To use your own images I recommend using the included image admin utility. More information about the usage of this image admin tool can be found in the image admin section of this manual. Note that your image has to be in JPG format.
Also, if you want the background image show through the different sections (e.g. header, content, …) you have to set the sections to transparent in the last style variation Section Transparency.
Logo/Title Options
With Camilo V4 there is an option to define where the logo will be shown. You have two different ways of adding a Logo. As described above the "Side Header Logo" is added with the site inspector. The other logo can be added via the Image Admin Tool, which comes with the camilo theme (not available in the demo version). There are several options where and how to render your titles and the logo. As this is new in V 4.0.2 you probably have to make sure you have set the correct values in the style variations. There are three options that can be chosen independently as seen in the screenshot.
Note that the top logo size is limited to a height of about 60px.
Also the top logo will be shown on the iPhone’s top bar. You will see how it looks in the following section.
The Additional Top Logo Image
In V4 of the Camilo theme you can add an additional Top Logo to your site. This image can be copied into the theme by using the included Image Admin Utility. The height of this logo should be about 60px and the image needs to be in PNG format. As seen in the step above you have an option to hide/show the logo on the iPhone screen. That way you can also choose to hide the top logo on your site and only show it to iPhone users (in that case, switch the "Top Logo Placement" style variation to "hide" and the "iPhone Logo" to "Show on iPhone"
Automatic Shadowbox for Photo Album Pages
Per default, Photo Album images are presented in a shadowbox layer. But in some circumstances you may want to disable this feature (e.g. when using folder/subfolders with the RapidAlbum plugin). There is a style variation to enable/disable the Automatic Shadowbox feature.
Rendering on iPhones
In Camilo 4 I worked a lot on the iPhone support and have found a way to maximize the accessability with this mobile phone. The iPhone can display web pages as they are per default. But this means most pages will be too small to be readable. And this is where the theme is improved: there is a kind of iPhone optimized rendering of your content in a brand new layout. All important parts are in view, the readability of the text is maximized and images of the photo album pages are as big as they can be seen very clear. In addition I removed many parts of the layout per default. The sidebar and the navigation is hidden per default. They can be accessed by clicking the button in the top right corner. If the user clicks on it, the navbar with the sidebar content below will be shown. I think you really have to test it to see it in action!
